Course Development
Our world-class Development Team can design custom courseware for your organization that can be administered and tracked through the Microburst Learning Management System or through your own organization’s Learning Management System. You can choose from our library of existing courses or we can develop a specialty course to meet your specific needs. We treat each project as unique and follow an EASY four-step course development process to best meet your specific e-Learning needs. |
|
EASY Four-Step Course Development Process
Step One: Conduct an assessment to determine training needs, objectives, budget, and timelines.
Step Two: Gather necessary information (examples: video, digital pictures, procedures, samples, and manuals) and draft a preliminary e-Learning course without narration and media. Once complete, we will provide the first draft for your review and modification.
Step Three: Microburst Learning is provided with approved revisions for the draft e-Learning course. Microburst Learning will make the necessary changes to the content, add media and narration if applicable, draft the final copy of the e-Learning course, and submit the final draft of the e-Learning course to you for final approval.
Step Four: Once the final copy approval for the e-Learning course is received by Microburst Learning, we can post the final e-Learning course to the Microburst Learning Management System or through your own system.
Your input and feedback is critical throughout the course development process. Before we completely sign off that a course is complete, we conduct extensive quality testing to ensure the functionality of each course and then we deliver your anticipated product.
Instructional Design Approach
Microburst Learning can provide instructional design services, or you can supply content packages to our Instructional Designer(s) that can be converted into e-Learning courses. Here is how we approach these two scenarios:
You Provide the Content Packages Ready for e-Learning Conversion
Microburst Learning receives all content needed for course development. Content could include: storyboards, videos, pictures, manuals, procedures, processes, displays, graphics, logos, diagrams. We take your content package and build a draft course for your review and feedback. You provide all of the content and we provide the e-Learning format.
We build the content packages for you from scratch
Microburst Learning works closely with your Subject Matter Expert(s) to design the draft course, documents, storyboards, videos, diagrams, pictures, and steps to create an e-Learning course for you. We build the content and provide the e-Learning format.
When developing course content, there are four distinct levels of interaction and three levels of instructional design that should be considered. These various levels impact the pricing of course development.
Interaction Levels
The following interaction levels provide the Instructional Designer with an indicator as to the complexity of the project based on key components of course development.

Course Management
As technology, regulatory requirements, and laws change, your organization’s learning needs may change. Our experts can assess and update courses based on organizational, regulatory, and technological changes. We follow the same EASY four-step course development process outlined above.
Assessments
As the old saying goes, “We measure what we value, and we value what we measure.” When your performance attains a critical threshold of significance—whether to those you serve or to those who fund your service—documentation of results becomes vitally important.
Drawing from our decades of experience in evaluation and psychological research methodologies, we offer a wide variety of quantitative and qualitative analysis services to aid in measuring and improving end results. We can measure the level of learning that has taken place through our assessment services and tools. For example, we can provide assessments based on your specific needs, including pre and post tests.
Tracking
We offer a tracking and reporting system that will allow you to see if the course has been completed, obtain scores for the completed course, and know when the renewal of certifications is required.
Portal Application and Management
At Microburst Learning, our design team can create and manage customized branded e-Learning portals for your organization that contain your organization’s logo and company-specific content. Your employees’ training results will be tracked so that you will be able to see completed courses by employee, course enrollment, and testing results, just to name a few. These imperative tracking methods are accessible online by logging into your company-specific site.
